SACRAMENT OF SERVICE

Marriage

A sacred covenant of love, mirroring the bond between Christ and His Church.

Celebrating Love in Christ

Catholic marriage is a sacred covenant — not merely a contract — in which a man and woman give themselves entirely to each other and to God. In this sacrament, Christ himself is present, blessing and strengthening the couple's love.

We are delighted to accompany you on this beautiful journey. Our parish team is here to help you celebrate your wedding day with reverence, joy, and love.

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud… Love never fails.”

Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should we contact the parish?

We recommend contacting the parish office at least 6–12 months before your desired wedding date. Popular dates book quickly, especially during summer.

Can we be married at St. Charles Garnier if we are not parishioners?

Yes, with permission. One or both parties should have a connection to the parish, or receive a letter of permission from their home parish.

What if one of us is not Catholic?

A marriage between a Catholic and a non-Catholic is called a mixed marriage or disparity of cult marriage. Special permission is required, and our pastor will guide you through this process.

Are rehearsals required?

Yes. A rehearsal is typically held the evening before the wedding. All members of the wedding party are expected to attend.

Can we choose our own music and readings?

Yes, within the guidelines of the Church. Our music ministry team and priest will work with you to select appropriate liturgical music and scripture readings.
